Want a red Ferrari with a high-revving V8 behind you? This Rosso Corsa 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider is a fine candidate. It’s from the 360 line-up of 2000 to 2005, and represents one of Ferrari’s finest models at the turn of the millennium. With its black interior, automated manual transmission, and engine that screams towards 8,500rpm, this is a superb catch for any petrol head. Talk to us if you’d like to take over this Italian beauty.
Exterior and Interior
Intended to replace the F355, the Ferrari 360 was an all-new design. Those sleek lines are the work of Pininfarina, while beneath the alluring Rosso Corsa paintwork of this 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider lies an aluminum space-frame chassis that is 40% stiffer than the F355’s. Scuderia Ferrari shields adorn the car in key places, but the design alone is enough of a calling card. Ditto the silver five-spoke alloy wheels that, even if you were to remove their Ferrari-branded center caps, would still be recognized as Ferrari units. And since this car is a Spider, it’s got a powered convertible top as well. The two-seat interior of this 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider comes in black and offers some decent creature comforts, enabling this car to easily become your daily without much sacrifice. There’s automatic climate control, power windows, power mirrors and power door locks. The radio is now an Alpine unit that supports Bluetooth, as well as USB and AUX connections. But you don’t buy a Ferrari just for its radio or air conditioning system. And that’s where its alluring driver’s cockpit captivates you, with that signature analog rev counter coming with a yellow face, and redlined at 8,500rpm! Paddle shifters live behind the steering wheel, allowing you to call out gear changes as you desire. Metal sport pedals and a 220mph speedometer are further points of note.
ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
Engine The 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 that moves this 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider is placed directly behind the passenger compartment. It’s 90-degree unit with five valves per cylinder, making a reported 395hp at 8,500rpm and 275lb-ft of torque at 4,750rpm. The engine powers the rear wheels through a 6-speed F1-style Graziano automated manual transmission. Nevertheless, 0-60mph can reportedly be done in 5 seconds, and the top speed is officially stated as 183mph.
